Scanbuy, a prominent player engaged in cloud-based mobile connection solutions recently released a report highlighting consumer shopping activity during the first quarter of this year. Scanbuy analyzed 22 million consumer engagements which involved consumers using mobile phones for commercial activities. The report specifically highlights the global appeal of mobile shopping. Here are some statistics from the report:

>> Males were responsible for 59% of overall scanning activity.

>> Engagements averaged 4.29 actions per user.

>> Activity was highest at the end of the workday, i.e., from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

>> Top interest categories on the ScanLife mobile app included technology & gadgets, food & drink and fashion.

>> Popular QR code content involved products, video, ecommerce, app downloads and CRM.

>> Leading URLs were SeaWorld, Hewlett-Packard and Coca-Cola.
