In this  article, LTP talks about the big job switches that have happened in the FinTech space. Eminent bankers have moved from mainstream banking to open or head FinTech startups. The sectors in FinTech where we have seen job movements are segments like bitcoin, blockchain, remittance and mobile payments.

Sir David Walker
Previous Role: Barclays Chairman between 2012 until earlier this year.
Current Role: Chairman of SETL, a blockchain-based payment processor and settlement
company.

Lukas May:
Previous Role: A founding member of the Financial Conduct Authority’s fledgling Innovation Hub. He worked at the FCA since 2012 and played a key role in setting up the hub.
Current Role: Responsible for expanding TransferWise’s business globally. Opening new currency routes for TransferWise and working with national governments to ensure rules and regulations support consumer-friendly innovation.

Christina Smedley:
Previous Role: PayPal’s VP of global brand and communications till October 2015
Current Role:  Director, communications – Facebook Messenger

Bret Allenbach:
Previous Role: Executive of finance at Visa and CFO of PayPal
Current Role: Ripple’s Chief Financial Officer. Responsible for managing the finance and risk functions for Ripple, which interconnects the world’s financial systems to enable real-time, secure transfer of funds in any currency.

Brent Warrington:
Previous Role: CEO of SecureNet Payment Systems (acquired by Worldpay), a provider of cloud-based payment solutions for merchants that integrate point-of-sale, mobile and e-commerce payments processing.
Current Role: CEO at Hyperwallet Systems Inc. Responsible for global expansion into new markets, such as the emerging collaborative economy segment. Additionally, Warrington will develop tactical alliances with financial services organizations and strategic partnerships with emerging high-tech, high-growth companies.

Previous Role: TrialPay’s Co-founder and CEO. Earlier this year, he sold his startup to Visa, for $116 million (Visa technically paid $90 million, having already been a TrialPay investor).

Current Role: Head Treasurer at Factom. The company has hired Dienelt as part of its focus on bitcoin asset management for the ongoing sale of its software token dubbed Factoid.

– LendingPoint, an industry-leading online direct loan provider, has added global payments industry luminary Charlie Fote to its board of directors.

– ACI Worldwide has added a payments veteran to its board of directors as it announced the appointment of Jan Estep, CEO of NACHA, the Electronic Payments Association.

– Simon Williams, a former Citi and HSBC Executive, joined NerdWallet’s board of directors and invested $5 million.
